ROMANIAN SOCIETY OF PALAEONTOLOGISTS
Third Circular & Programme
We are honoured to invite you cordially to Bucharest, one of the centres of the Romanian Palaeontology, to attend the Eleventh Romanian Symposium of Palaeontology to be held between the25 and 30 of September, 2017 . This meeting is organized for the fourth time by the Department of Geology, Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, University of Bucharest, 20 years after the First Romanian Symposium of Palaeontology organized in 1997 by our Department. These biennial meetings of the RSP (The Romanian Society of Palaeontologists) are aimed to promote the collaboration between scientists working in the wider field of Palaeontology as well as in related research areas represented by Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, Palaeobiogeography, Palaeoecology, Basin Analysis, Geoheritage and Geoconservation. The RSP meetings represent excellent opportunities for scientists working in these fields to share their research experience and results, to discuss different topics of interest, and to initiate collaborative projects. During the years, the biennial meetings of the RSP became International Meetings, with participants from all over Europe but also from other continents.
The Eleventh Romanian Symposium of Palaeontology is organized this year in collaboration with ICUB - The Research Institute of the University of Bucharest that is a newly established research institute, a research division of the University of Bucharest. Its mission is to promote excellence in research and to encourage international collaborations.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee we thank you for your interest in participating in the Eleventh Romanian Symposium of Paleontology . We look forward welcoming you in Bucharest!
For the organizing committee,
The University of Bucharest is rich in history, and has been actively contributing to Romanian education, science and culture since its founding. Even from the beginnings of the University, Earth Sciences occupied an important place in the formation of the students, with Palaeontology representing one domain of the Natural and Earth Sciences that continuously developed as an important direction of research and education.
The 11 th Romanian Symposium of Palaeontology will be held at the Department of Geology, Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, University of Bucharest. The symposium center is located in the building of the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, Laboratory of Palaeontology (second floor), in 1 N. Balcescu Ave, Bucharest, Romania.
LANGUAGE OF THE SYMPOSIUM English will be the official language of the Symposium. Most of the service people in Romania can speak/understand English.
